Beauty of Life

It Was an Idyllic Journey in the Moonlight…

POWRÓT
Beauty of Life

From a letter to his sister Zuleczka, 17 September 1885:

“I was traveling with a priest to a neighboring village today, and there somehow I became animated among the people. (…) Tomorrow we were supposed to go to Rykovskoye in the morning for a mass. So that they (the village children – ed.) would not have to walk in the cold, we took them with us and made the organist walk. What fun they had when we put them on the carriage pulled by three horses with bells. It was an idyllic journey in the moonlight with the children careless and laughing with a completely innocent laughter.”
